Ladera Ranch Kids Club
Ladera Ranch Kids Club kick it at California Martial Arts Academy in Ladera Ranch. It was great to see the focus, fitness and fun that the kids were having learning martial arts for the first time. Many of them were very excited to learn Kung Fu just like in Kung Fu Panda.
California Martial Arts first opened their doors in Ladera Ranch back in 2004 at the Oak Knoll club house. Since then, we've moved into a larger location in the shopping center next to Swirls and It's A Grind. We're proud to be the very first martial arts school in Ladera and have grown with the community through the years.

Save a Dime to Save the Kids!
California Martial Arts is working with Team Thomas to raise money for cancer research. Thomas is a young Orange County boy that was diagnosed with cancer at an early age. With the support of organizations like the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, he has gone through many treatments and slowly healing from it.
Bring your dimes and help support the cause. CMA will be collecting dimes for the next month and half to support Team Thomas.
We'd like to acknowledge Mr. Larry David from the Irvine Academy for breaking open his favorite Green Bay Packers piggy bank which was able to raise about $100 to the cause.
Little Rhys Sterling from Ladera Ranch donated his entire dime collection to the cause and Travis James from Ladera Ranch brought in a whole roll of dimes!
Thank you all and everyone else for supporting this cause!

Community Self-Defense Workshop
Orange County, CA - California Martial Arts Academy will be hosting a community self-defense workshop on Saturday January 16, 2010 at 12noon.
This free workshop will be the first of many community workshops for personal self-defense. We will have two workshops taking place. One will be in Irvine and the other in Ladera Ranch. "Having heard of bullying taking place as young as Kindergarten, I feel the community needs to be aware of what needs to be done to prevent bullying and the actions to take if you feel you or yourself are in danger," says Bob Hung, Chief Instructor at California Martial Arts.
You may not become a "master" in martial arts after this workshop but it's better to know a bit of self-defense and not have to use it, then to need it and not know any.
Parties interested in attending are asked to call and reserve your spot.
Contact:
Mr. Jon Kurtz - Irvine Academy

Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
California Martial Arts Receives 2009 Best of Irvine Award
U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement
WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 -- California Martial Arts has been selected for the 2009 Best of Irvine Award in the Martial Arts category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).
The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.
