California Martial Arts is working with Team Thomas to raise money for cancer research. Thomas is a young Orange County boy that was diagnosed with cancer at an early age. With the support of organizations like the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, he has gone through many treatments and slowly healing from it.
Bring your dimes and help support the cause. CMA will be collecting dimes for the next month and half to support Team Thomas.
We'd like to acknowledge Mr. Larry David from the Irvine Academy for breaking open his favorite Green Bay Packers piggy bank which was able to raise about $100 to the cause.
Little Rhys Sterling from Ladera Ranch donated his entire dime collection to the cause and Travis James from Ladera Ranch brought in a whole roll of dimes!
Thank you all and everyone else for supporting this cause!

Buddies without Boundaries Community Fun Walk
California Martial Arts Academy will be participating in the 1st Annual Ladera Ranch “Buddies Without Boundaries” 3k Fun Walk on November 7th, 2009. “Despite hard economic times, we are doing are best to support the local community and helping anyway we can”, says Kingston Heng, Sr. Chief Instructor of California Martial Arts in Ladera Ranch.
To help with the fundraiser, CMA has donated several gift certificates to be auctioned off at the carnival followed immediately after the 3k fun walk. In addition, we’ve been training the students of California Martial Arts in the Chinese traditional dragon dance. Learning dragon dancing is a way to learn about Chinese culture and the history behind the custom. The dragon is said to bring good luck and prosperity and is usually seen during festivals such as Chinese New Year. Hopefully our dragon will spread good fortune and luck to the community during the Fun Walk.
About California Martial Arts Academy
California Martial Arts Academy offers martial arts classes such as karate, taekwondo, and kung fu to children, teens and adults. We have been serving the South Orange County community for almost a decade and have schools located in Irvine, Ladera Ranch and Rancho Santa Margarita.
We believe in community awareness and offer self-defense classes for women and children, kickboxing and kettlebell classes for health and fitness and traditional kung fu classes to learn respect, self-control and discipline.
About Buddies without Boundaries
Buddies Without Boundaries was originally initiated as a way to focus efforts on a single goal at a time. Started by the Teens Who Care group, Buddies Without Boundaries knows when you focus on one single objective, powerful results follow, and we have designed our group to pursue one goal at a time, until it is completed. Once each goal is accomplished, a committee will select the next deserving family / cause, and on into the future.
For the inaugural effort, a non-biased committee reviewed many applications and nominees of local families with needs. For this year, Buddies Without Boundaries has selected the Edgerton Family of Ladera Ranch to be the recipients of their efforts. . Please click here to read more on the Edgertons. And if you are interested, click here to see our upcoming fundraiser - the 3k Community Family Fun Walk! And as always, you can click here to make a donation today. There is no minimum donation, all gifts are sincerely appreciated! Thank you so much for your support!
